Salamander Scale Pants.NASA has released a newgravity map for Mars stitched together from telemetry data collectedby a trio of spacecraft over the course of 16 years orbiting the RedPlanet. The map has already led to the confirmation that Mars hosts amolten liquid outer core, and insights relating to the titanictransfer of atmospheric material to the polar regions of the RedPlanet during their winter cycle.

The experiment reliedon the transmission of Doppler and range tracking data sent from theagency's Mars Global Surveyor, Mars Odyssey, and Mars ReconnaissanceOrbiter spacecraft. The telemetry was received by a series of radioantennas collectively known as the Deep Space Network. As the spacecraftorbited Mars, the bumps and ravines that characterize the surface ofthe Red Planet worked to create tiny deviations in the trajectory ofthe spacecraft as they passed over the terrain.

By observing orbitaldeviations from the planet's center of mass, a team of scientists at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center were able to stitch together a highly detailed Gravity mapof Mars far exceeding the resolution of any that had come before.

In order for theorbital deviations caused by Mars' uneven gravity to be detected, interference from a host of other sources had to be filtered out.

This included minute forces such as the pressure exerted on thespacecraft's solar panels by particles emanating from our Sun, anddrag generated via the interaction between the shallow-orbitingprobes and Mars' tenuous atmosphere. The process of removing theinterference took two years of work, involving the use ofsophisticated computer models. However, the Martian gravity mappingendeavor represented somewhat larger of a challenge.

One of the majorinsights allowed by the gravity map is the confirmation that Marshosts an outer core consisting of liquid molten rock. The idea thatMars hosts a molten liquid outer core is not a new one, howeverprevious gravitational studies had lacked the ability to confirm thediscovery. The superior resolutionof the new map, which is capable of detecting gravity anomalies only km 62 miles across, has allowed scientists to confirm thetheory by analyzing tides present in the mantle and outer crust ofthe planet created by the gravitational force of our star, and Mars'two moons Phobos and Deimos.

The map is alreadyproving useful in deciphering the geological properties of an unusualregion of the Martian surface located between the northern Martianlowlands and the southern highlands that are known to exhibit a below-average gravity signature. Previous studies ledscientists to theorize that the gravity depressions owed theirexistence to a network of subsurface channels carved out by runningwater billions of years in the past.

However,NASA's newly-released high-resolution gravity map detected a numberof the channel-like features running along topographical slopes inthe Martian terrain rather than down them. In other words, thefeatures did not correlate with the natural downhill flow of waterrequired to create such a channel, essentially debunking the theory. Instead, scientists are working on the premise that the current low gravityregion was created when the lithosphere of theplanet flexed and buckled under the titanic weight of the emerging Tharsis volcanoes.

Not all of the insightsprovided by the map were limited to the planet's surface. NASAscientists were able to infer the quantity of carbon dioxide thatfreezes out of the atmosphere each winter by analyzing how Mars'gravitational signature has alters over the course of a full cycle ofsolar activity 11 years worth of observations. It is estimated that aseach hemisphere enters its winter cycle, an astonishing 3 — 4trillion tons of carbon dioxide settles in the polar regions, accounting for around 12 — 16 percent of the Red Planet's tenuousatmosphere.

Furthermore, a significant amount of this mass istransferred from pole to poll as the hemispheres alternate throughtheir respective winter cycles. In terms of operationaluses, the map will be instrumental in allowing for a more accurateinsertion of future spacecraft into Mars orbit. Source: NASA. LOG IN. Menu HOME. Search Query Submit Search.

How to complete the Molten Core Attunement

It is one of the two Phase 1 raids, the other being Onyxia's Lair. The Molten Core lies at the very bottom of Blackrock Depths. It is the heart of Blackrock Mountain and the exact spot where, long ago in a desperate bid to turn the tide of the dwarven civil war, Emperor Thaurissan summoned the elemental Firelord, Ragnaros, into the world. Though the firelord is incapable of straying far from the blazing Core, it is believed that his elemental minions command the Dark Iron dwarves, who are in the midst of creating armies out of living stone.

The burning lake where Ragnaros lies sleeping acts as a rift connecting to the plane of fire, allowing the malicious elementals to pass through. Chief among Ragnaros' agents is Majordomo Executus - for this cunning elemental is the only one capable of calling the Firelord from his slumber. Deep within Blackrock Depths, you are able to enter Molten Core, where you can work your way through the raid to ultimately defeat Ragnaros.

However, getting into Molten Core requires some work ahead of time. There are two ways to get into Molten Core: completing the attunement, or traveling through Blackrock Depths. Completing this quest will allow you to talk with Lothos to simply be ported into Molten Core, instead of needing to run into the raid yourself.

Running into the raid yourself is possible, but quite time consuming. The entrance to Molten Core is deep within Blackrock Depths, meaning you and a group of 4 other players will need to spend time clearing through the dungeon to get into the raid. In a raid of 40 people, if you need everyone to run into Molten Core this way, that means a group of 5 would need to clear all the way through Blackrock Depths into Molten Core, only to then have the remaining 35 people travel through Blackrock Depths 5 at a time into Molten Core.

While this is possible, it would be quite time consuming, and you would most likely spend hours just getting everyone inside. On the other hand, the attunement quest itself is quite easy. You can pick up Attunement to the Core at Level 55, and all you need to do is clear through Blackrock Depths to the entrance of Molten Core just once to retrieve the rock fragments found outside the entrance.

Once you return to Lothos with the fragment, you can talk to him anytime in the future and he will simply teleport you into Molten Core, allowing you to access the raid easily. Molten Core is a man raid, which means you can have up to 40 people in your raid group while inside.

While you can complete Molten Core with almost any raid composition, there are definitely some key classes to have. An ideal raid group would have something close to the following composition. For more information about the best healers, tanks, and DPS, check out the tier lists for each here. While the above setup is what would be considered an optimal group in a perfect world, it is extremely important to emphasize that you could complete Molten Core with almost any raid composition.

At the end of the day, players are more important than specs and classes in WoW Classic, so try not to focus too much on crafting an ideal group.

Trash pulls can be some of the most dangerous in Molten Core, even more so than some bosses. The key to not wiping in Molten Core is consistency and safety; always pull trash back in as small of groups as possible, and always clear more room than you think you will need before pulling a boss.

WoW Classic Molten Core Guide

The most dangerous trash mobs are listed below.Used to track threat you can keep this closed in the background. Each person in the group must have the same threat tracker in order for them to work together correctly.

Starting at level 55 players are able to pick up the quest! After the bridge, you can already see the entrance to the Molten Core. To the left of the entrance, on the wall, pick up the Core Fragment that is required for the quest.

Once in the lava, you and your team will need to hug the left side of the cavern, allowing the players to stand on a small sliver of land, avoiding the damage from the lava. Once this narrow path comes to an end the party will have the bridge leading to the Core Fragment. Though to get there, the team must swim through lava. This is where a healer or fire absorbing consumables come into play. For Molten Core tanks should have fire resistance gear for some bosses especially for Ragnaros.

We will need in total 8 Aqual Quintessence each run, to douse the runes to be able to encounter Majordomo Executus and Ragnaros. The maintank runs in, grabs Lucifron and turns him away from the raid. The offtank grabs the Flamewaker Protector adds, turns them away from the raid and slightly away from the maintank, so he can avoid Cleave.

When everything is positioned dps starts attacking the Flamewaker Protector adds.

Tabulator font size

When positioned correctly you can also cleave on Lucifron while damaging the Flamewaker Protector adds. When someone gets mindcontrolled by Dominate Mind, cleave and AoE needs to stop until the player gets Dispelled.

4 low light flashing toyota sequoia

Ranged dps and healers can stay 20 yards away, to avoid Dominate Mind. When the adds are dead focus onto Lucifron. The maintank will pull Magmadar and he will turn him sideways, only the tank should be effected by Lava Breath.

Ryzen bsod windows 10

The tank should swap stances to activate Berserker Rage, to avoid the fear effect from Panic. Melees will be damaged from Magma Spit, healers need to keep them healthy. Ranged dps and healers should stay at max range to try to avoid Panic, you can negate this effect to a certain degree by putting Tremor Totems down Hordeor using Fear Ward Alliance. Magmadar targets a player and will use Lava Bomb on him, on impact it will do damage to the player and a fire on the ground will appear.

Immediately walk out of it otherwise you will get a dot and if needed use a Greater Fire Protection Potion. Occasionally Magmadar will get Frenzy wich needs to be dispelled by Hunters using Tranquilizing Shot. The maintank should pull the boss and the offtank separates the Flamewaker adds from Gehennas. The Flamewaker adds have an ability Fist of Ragnaros wich is stunning in an frontal arc, turn them away from the raid.

The adds dont have a high health pool, just focus them down. After the adds are killed focus onto Gehennas, the tank needs to move him since he will cast Rain of Fire occasionally and you need to avoid it. Gehennas shoots a Shadow Bolt on players, keep your group healthy and this spell should not be an issue. It is recommended that tanks bring Greater Stoneshield Potion for this fight. You can cast minor buffs on the raid, so Garr has a chance to remove those buffs with Antimagic Pulse, rather then your important ones.

On pull warlocks will get assigned to a Firesworn add and they will Banish it and keep it in that state until Garr is dead. The maintank will pick up Garr, the offtank will pick up the leftover Firesworn adds, tanking them barely 15 yards away from Garr, otherwise Separation Anxiety will trigger.Blackrock Spire Shadowforge City.

Moira Thaurissan. In between the Burning Steppes and Searing Gorge. Blackrock Mountain is a zone between the Burning Steppes and the Searing Gorgelinking the two regions. This zone is deceptively small and appears empty when first entered - however, it was at one point, without doubt, among the most dangerous places in Azeroth.

It was hotly contested between the forces of Ragnaros and his Dark Iron servants on one side and the black dragon Nefarian and his orc minions on the other. Currently, it is occupied by the Ironmarch. This is one of the most important areas in World of Warcraft lore.

The mountain is actually a volcano that was created at the end of the War of the Three Hammers when the Dark Iron Lord, Thaurissanaccidentally summoned Ragnaros the Firelord from his prison in the Firelands. The power unleashed by his "rebirth" was so massive it shattered a large section of the Redridge Mountains creating the areas now known as the Searing Gorge and Burning Steppes.

Ragnaros enslaved the Dark Iron dwarf clan, They have built a giant city made of tunnels throughout the mountain. When the Shadow Council moved into Blackrock Mountain, they were confronted by the fire elemental and Dark Iron dwarf minions of Ragnaros. Cho'gall used his fledgling connection to the Old Gods to convince the dwarves and Ragnaros's lieutenants, who also served the Old Gods, to let the Shadow Council stay in the upper reaches of the mountain, Blackrock Spire.

If the warlocks remained there, they would not be disturbed by Ragnaros or his followers. Gul'dan was angered that he could not have the whole mountain, but was pleased by Cho'gall's effective diplomacy. However, he was unaware of the true reason it had worked. Once the Shadow Council was disbanded, the Blackrock clan settled in the fortress, [7] and the area became the headquarter of the Horde for the Second War.

After the Old Horde had been defeated at the Dark Portal following their defeat at the siege, many orcs were caught and put into internment camps by the Alliance of Lordaeron. Rend Blackhand and his brother Maim Blackhandwho served as dual chieftains of the defeated Black Tooth Grin clan and Blackrock clanapparently rescued some of their warriors from the internment camps and went back to Blackrock Spire where they founded the Dark Horde. The black wyrm Nefarian arrived two [9] years later after the Dark Portal was reopened by the Horde of Draenor.

He made his home in the upper reaches of Blackrock Mountain and made this Dark Horde his personal army, in addition to the other black dragons he brought and the experiments he later created.

Considered the pinnacle of raiding achievement at the time, the Molten Core enticed adventurers to enter the instance in the search of realm glory.

Just before the re-opening of the Dark PortalRagnarosthe land's fiery overlord was cast down from his dark throne and returned to the Firelands. He now rages war on the world tree Nordrassil.

Upon successful completion of the encounters, all bosses drop tier 1 set items - excluding Ragnaros, who drops tier 2 leg items. In addition, trash mobs may drop Fiery Cores, Lava Cores, and Core Leather, which can be used to craft armor and weapons available with Thorium Brotherhood reputation.

The Hydraxian Waterlords offer a quest chaineventually rewarding Aqual Quintessencewhich was at one point required to douse the Runes of the Firelord in order to summon Majordomo Executus and consequently, Ragnaros.

Presently, defeating bosses will automatically douse their respective runes. Near the end of the war, Thaurissan, the leader of the Dark Iron Dwarvessought to summon a powerful fire elemental to defeat the combined forces of the Bronzebeard and Wildhammer clans. He was more successful than he could have imagined, as he released Ragnaros the Firelord from millennia of captivity under the Redridge Mountains.

Ragnaros destroyed the city of Thaurissan and created the volcano of Blackrock Mountain.

He dwells there to this day with his elemental servants and the enslaved remnants of the Dark Iron dwarf clan.

The burning lake where Ragnaros lies sleeping acts as a rift connecting to the plane of fire, allowing the malicious elementals to pass through. On release, Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair were the only 40 man instances in the game, thus Ragnaros was the first "game end boss.

However, prior to the Burning Crusade, slaying him was still considered a very important step in raid progression before engaging in more challenging content. It was the first raid encounter which required a concerted effort in acquiring massive amounts of a particular statistic in this case, fire resistance. Moreover, the encounter was the first one to demand the extensive use of consumables, at least in the learning process and in the first few kills. As such, it was once a very important stage in the evolution of a raiding guild.

However, as of the Burning Crusade expansion, this is no longer the case, as this instance is largely obsolete with the introduction of Outland green items with superior stats to most of Tier 1 and the fact that most higher instances are lower than 40 man, making them a much more practical way to go. While technically there are no prerequisites to enter Molten Core through its entrance at the bottom of Blackrock Depths, every Core raider will want to complete the Attunement to the Core quest to enable the shortcut at the bottom of Blackrock Mountain.

This quest is given at level 55 by Lothos Riftwaker who is located just outside The Quarry, on the way to Blackrock Depths. Once attuned you can access Molten Core by talking to Lothos again.

When dead as ghost you also have the possibility to jump into the lava near Lothos. This can also be done by living players if they have a way to slow fall, or by jumping first onto the small ledge in the pillar on the right as you enter the main chamber of Blackrock Mountain, healing, then jumping down, back toward the wall of the lava pit, to cover the remaining distance to the platform below.

There are very few quests that involve the Molten Core. The only significant quest chain is the Hydraxian Waterlords chain, which can be started by a visit to Duke Hydraxis off the coast of Azshara. Completing this quest chain will require killing one of each of the trash mobs in the Core, and then defeating the four Flamewaker bosses in Molten Core Lucifron, Gehennas, Shazzrah, and Sulfuron Harbinger.

In addition, all the trash mobs and bosses in Molten Core provide Hydraxian Waterlord reputation. The final reward options for this quest chain are [ Tidal Loop ] or [ Ocean's Breeze ]both rare rings with high Fire Resistance. Before Ragnaros can be summoned, the raid must defeat Majordomo Executus. Majordomo Executus will only appear if the raid douses the seven runes that are located near certain bosses in the Molten Core.
